Steps For Mailing Ashes

Please go to our Forms Page for a printable document of the following information.

If the ashes are in your possession at this time see step 1.

If you are pre-planning or working with a funeral home or crematorium see step 2.

  1. On the forms page please print out the 'Authorization and Contract' forms. Fill them out and mail or fax them to us along with any existing copies of the Death Certificate or Disposition Papers. We will file for a new Disposition Form and mail it to you, as this form must accompany the remains during shipping. See step 3.
  2. On the forms page print the 'Land Owners Authorization' form and bring this to your Funeral Director. Arrange with your funeral home or Crematorium to have the 'Application and Permit for the Disposition of Human Remains to read:

    You may make arrangements with your Funeral Director to send the ashes and papers directly to us, or if you choose to ship yourself see step 3.
  3. When you receive the Disposition papers send the Ashes and Disposition papers to us following these guidelines.
  4. Pack the Cremains in a sealed container. The original box or bag is best. Put this in a padded shipping box.
  5. Before closing the outer box please include the disposition papers, signed contract (if not previously sent), and check or money order for $225.00
  6. If desired enclose your personal farewell note with the name of the Deceased written on the outside of a sealed envelope.
  7. Write on outside of box CREMATED HUMAN REMAINS.
  8. Seal and address box to:

  9. Send United States Postal Service, REGISTERED MAIL RETURN RECEIPT. Many other delivery services do not accept Human Remains. For your peace of mind sending U.S. Postal Service registered return receipt is the most reliable and convenient.
